The DC Generals traveled to Charlotte to face the Cobras on Saturday, May 30th. The Cobras designated this contest as their annual "Heroes Bowl" which benefits a local hero in need. The proceeds from this contest were donated to CMPD Officer Mark Lester and his family. Officer Lester's wife was diagnosed with cancer just weeks prior to this game. To assist Officer Lester and his family with the ensuing medical bills for his wife's treatment, the Cobras donated the proceeds from the ticket sales and consessions.
The Cobras were victorious with a 21-12 victory over their rivaled foe, the DC Generals, with whom they have split the victories in four contests. The night was a success on and off the field when the biggest victory went to the fans who came out to support the Charlotte Cobras in their effort to assit a local hero in need.
